Participation at Osaka-Kansai Expo

On Monday, October 6, 2025, LUNDATTE founder Chiaki Kimura participated as a speaker and facilitator in the official program “The Power of Intellectual Property to Change Tomorrow” at EXPO Messe, Osaka-Kansai Expo.
The event, hosted by the Japan Patent Office, Kinki Bureau of Economy, INPIT, and Japan Patent Attorneys Association, focused on how intellectual property (IP) can drive societal progress.

Engaging Women Entrepreneurs on IP and the Future

In the first session, “Designing What Didn’t Exist,” female entrepreneurs involved in government-backed programs such as LED Kansai and Giraffes JAPAN shared insights.
Kimura facilitated the discussion, presenting real examples of how startups can place IP at the core of their business strategy and manage IP-related risks.

“Trademarks are first-come, first-served. That’s why protecting your vision and brand from the very start is an investment in the future.”
— Chiaki Kimura, Founder of LUNDATTE

INPIT Free Consultations as the First Step

The session highlighted INPIT’s free consultation services for IP support. Kimura emphasized:

“Because INPIT consultations are free, it’s crucial to get advice from the idea stage. Early consultation is the first step to risk prevention.”

Startups were encouraged not to overcomplicate IP, but to leverage early advice before launching.

LUNDATTE’s Innovation: Gut Health × Underwear

LUNDATTE has launched Choii Boxers®, supporting men with gut health and cold-related discomfort.
With a unique design free of seams and waistband elastic, the boxers provide gentle support without compressing the abdomen—introducing a new “wearable gut-care” category.
LUNDATTE has secured trademarks for its brand and products, completed design registrations, and filed patents, highlighting how IP has been central from the company’s inception.

IP as the Power to Shape Ideas

The event reinforced that IP is not merely a legal tool but a way to bring ideas to society.
Kimura presented LUNDATTE’s approach, combining fashion and healthcare, to illustrate how startups can address social challenges using IP.

“IP isn’t only for large corporations; it’s an asset that everyone bringing ideas to life should protect.”
— Chiaki Kimura

Looking Ahead

LUNDATTE, a Japan-born apparel brand protecting gut health, aims to make gut care a global standard.
Believing that supporting gut health contributes to human healthspan, the brand plans to expand products that nurture well-being from the inside out, continuing its global growth powered by intellectual property.
